Quiet World Sports is in Jackson, MIchigan, located in the south central part of the state. The Indian name for the area means Land of Falling Waters. Four major Michigan rivers have their source in Jackson County, The Grand, Portage, Kalamazoo and Raisin.
Our location is about:
We will meet at our new headquarters at Vandercook Lake County Park, right on the beach, and hold class either on Vandercook Lake or one of the adjoining lakes; Cove or Brown's, depending on boat traffic and weather conditions. If you wish to stay over in Jackson, we can provide you with campground and motel lists
If you arrive early and are in need of a bite to eat, or are hungry and thirsty after class we recommend the world famous Bone Island Grille in beautiful downtown Vandercook Lake. Just up the street (north) and around the corner on Francis Street, Karen and Frank serve up breakfast, lunch, dinner and libations every day. Tell 'em Kat sent you! We also have "The Store", two blocks east on Hague Avenue, a local party store that advertises the coldest Beer in town! Although we don't condone alcohol on the water, they would be glad to help you out after class.
Also in Jackson is the historic Michigan Theatre, home of the Reel Paddling Film Festival that is sponsored by Quiet World Sports, Michigantheatre.org. Cascades Park, the Falling Waters Trail and our county park system. Click here to visit their website.
