Sandhill Crane Tour
Jackson County hosts thousands of Sandhill Cranes, and occasional Whooper on their migrations in both the spring and the fall. Join us as we paddle into the resting areas of these beauties to see them congregate and fuel up for their thousands of miles journey.
Besides the cranes, we may also see eagles and other raptors and multitudes of waterfowl. Mink, otter, deer, and other critters have also been seen in these areas.
Your tour includes snacks and beverage on the water, kayak and necessary gear, and instruction to safely enter and exit your boat and basic paddling strokes. Be aware that “bathroom” facilities are non-existent and shore landing areas are limited. Bladder capacity should be at least 3 hours.
In order to safeguard the birds and the ecosystem, tour groups will be limited in size and we will do nothing to harass the birds. Bring your cameras, binoculars and your sense of adventure!
Cost: $130 including all equipment
